WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Teen star Demi Lovato hopes Barack Obama's presidency can turn the U.S. economy around for the sake of her fans.
Teen star Demi Lovato is one of the performers at the kids' inaugural concert.
"I hate to see families of fans struggling in these tough times," Lovato said as she prepared for the dress rehearsal for Monday night's kids' inaugural concert.
The 16-year-old Lovato, a singer and actor, was picked to perform two songs from her debut album at the star-studded event.
"It's history in the making," Lovato said. "People of all ages are paying attention. As teenagers get older, they are taking an interest in what is happening in their future."
Lovato, whose television series, "Sonny With A Chance," debuts on the Disney Channel in February, starred opposite Joe Jonas in Disney's "Camp Rock" made-for-TV movie last year.
Coverage begins Tuesday, 10 a.m. ET
Joe and his brothers -- best known as the Jonas Brothers -- will also perform Monday at the show, which is officially titled "Kids' Inaugural: We Are the Future."
Miley Cyrus and Bow Wow will also perform, while Billy Ray Cyrus, Keke Palmer and Usher are among the presenters who will introduce them.
Michelle Obama and the Obama's two daughters will attend the concert, along with thousands of children from military families in the Washington area.
